Dear friends- I have been to Santiago before. We saw how great Chile is and love the culture. The real estate is very inexpensive.
Who knows about hte best place to invest in real estate. I hear that Pucon is the best place and Chillan is fantastic.
I have snowboarded and skied all over the US and want to find a great area to buy an inexpensive home.
I am Catholic and like the Chilean people a lot. Please email me if you have any recommendations.
Thank You
p.s. I have been to the Concon by Vinna del Mar---very nice. I went to La Cerena.

Iam on the same boat. I fell in love with Pucon. I love snowboarding on the Vulcan Villarica. Let me know if you find any real estate agencies or properties in this area.Cheers

I was in the same boat too having boarded in Pucon 6 years ago. Never got over it ... came back last year and am now living here. I could seriously recommend my real estate agent, she's a gem! BUT Pucon is problably the most expensive place outside the Santiago area, if you want a real bargain you would go for Villarrica itself or well outside Pucon. Of course it's still a shedload cheaper, and a better life, than the real world. :-)
You really need to get here, spend some time and look around, it's too important a decision to rush and rents are pretty cheap offseason (ie not in summer).
Cheers

If your looking for real estate in this area, I would get on the web and type in the place and where you want real estate. just go to a regular search engine and type this information in, and you should get some good results than call/or send an e-mail to this person asking them to send you a book with the properties that are for sale, and go from there.

General rules for property prices in Latin America:Internet property listings: Highest prices
English Speaking Realtor: Next highest
Newspaper Ads: medium prices
Signs on properties: lowest prices

I also am a HUGE snowboarding fan and I did not know that you could go snowboarding in Vulcan Villarica. I would like to know more information on this area, and also be able to go to a website where I could see pictures of this place, and also be able to check places where I would be able to stay while snowboarding here.
Comment #8 Paul (63.176.159.58) - 12/16/08 23:25
Chan you said you like snowboarding in Vulcan Villarica I'm real interested in taking a trip there if it's a nice place to snowboard. Do you know if there are any nice places to stay near by?
Comment #9 Max (81.151.173.64) - 12/21/08 13:14
Pucan might be a nice place to visit but would you really want to live there? I liked Chillan. I could live there as it is a proper working town.

The best way to find Chile Real Estate is to go there and look! Skip the internet if you want the best deals... do some summer skiing too!

John, how are we supposed to know how your email address looks like? You have talked of the real estate industry being cheap. Moreover, someone has indicated that sighting is the best way to get the cheapest bargain..try walking around, you might get lucky.I am not aware if Chile normally holds cultural festivals. I would like to learn more about their customs, traditions and lifestyle.

Sólo debemos ir a Chile a ver que hay disponible. Nos veremos en Los Andes listos para comprar una casa y quiero vivir en Chile. ¡Pasen buenas!

For you snowboarding fans, I've found a site with some information and pictures on this. They sell tours, but you can just read and get a good idea of the area. You guys do realize that Volcan Villarica is a "lava-spewing" active volcano? Looks kind of scary to me.
Well if you're a fast snowboarder, maybe you can get away just in case....

If you are willing to spend a few million chilean pesos, then Puyehue is an extremely good choice. Another exceptional choice would be the major Chilean city, Osorno, where ski resorts and hot springs can be sought after. There is also such easy transportation through to Argentina and the Patagonia via a major route from the city Osorno. There are less pricey areas that Osorno, hilly areas and so forth, but minus the benefits.

Good luck with that real estate venture. I would surely love to have such a place. A nice house near to a ski resort, or simply at a location where one can ski from their back yard. Now that!! would truly be awesome.
Comment #23 Missy (63.176.159.245) - 12/05/09 22:27
Owning a house near ski resort is one of my biggest dream. I love to ski and finds it hard to go to a ski resort during winter. I know that the price of a house near a good establishment like a ski resort would cost me a lot. But still i never loose hope of owning one. Anyway, good luck on your quest on buying a home near a ski resort. Ciao..
Comment #24 Eve (63.176.159.163) - 12/14/09 13:05
Owning such a place would simply be heavenly, Missy. There is not doubt about it.
