What's the best time of year to visit Southern Chile and how much time is the minimum that would be good to stay there?

John, the best time to visit Southern Chile is between December and February. Your question is very difficult to answer 'cause there are SO MANY things to see that you would have to stay for months, but I recomend you to stay at least 3 weeks. I'm organizing a trekking trip in Southern Chile the summer 2008-2009. It's a really good way to visit Chilean Patagonia and to explore by yourself virgin areas. It's not too expensive and It's a great adventure. If you want more details please write me back :) estebanpatroni@gmail.com

Very nice place to stay nearby the volcano Llaima:Cabanas "Entre-Volcanes"
Good view to the active volcano. Only 50 km east of Temuco in Cherquenco at the river Quepe.

You have a US Passport? Jump on a plane and go. Take an extra $130 to pay the fee to get out of the airport...you'll probably get a 90 day entry stamp which you can easily get extended for another month.

Wow that seems extremely easy to visit Chile! So all I have to have is a US passport to go?

"Chile is a good place"
hi, the best time to visit Chile is from December - February. Chile is a nice place.
well since you are planning to have a vacation I can recommend you a travel agency which can help you to enjoy your vacation more with great deals. You don't have to worry about the hotel where you can stay. LastMinuteTravel can help you find what you need.
Yes, they can find you a good hotel with a good price. Visit their site and find their great deals and services. The reason why I'm recommending them to you is that I tried them many times when visiting to other countries.
The LMT always finds me what I'm looking for with a good price. And that I can also save some money for travel expenses.
thanks
