Christmas is celebrated in Chile exactly as it is in the states, except for the Christmas day food. First two years we had a BBQ of Steak, Sausages. and Chicken. All the side dishes were cooked inside at the kitchen.

The following thre years we cooked pretty much the same thing, except all indoors. No outside BBQ. There were considerable pasteries (cake and pie)

I have a chat site on sparkpea titled "Living in Chile" which I open for one hour every Monday at 6pm, Chilean time. Keep in mind we are in our winter, so are on regular time. At this time, there will be the same time as Eastern time zone, and we are three hours ahead of California (pacific time zone)

I really cannot think of how it is that I would actually fancy those Christmas celebration, s and so forth, that can be attended while in Chile, but I am sure that when it is that I am in this very location, and for such a season, one can be sure to find a whole lot of interest in whatever it is that would be found taking place.
