TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and to formally request consideration for any current or future appointments within your Santiago, Chile operations. I have included a copy of my resume along with this introduction letter and would be pleased to answer any questions you may have by return email.

I am currently employed as the Senior Estimating and Strategic Maintenance Manager for Major Construction Works, for the Queensland State Government, Brisbane, Australia. My position is responsible for a team of 30 Estimators and support staff, who prepare Building cost Estimates and Tenders for Education, Health, Police and Corrective Services. I have personally compiled Bills of Quantities for large School buildings, Hospitals, Universities and Prisons. I have experience in Architecture and Component Engineering, certificates in Industrial and Commercial Building, Interior Design and Furniture Design and have studied extensively in the Principles of Estimating and Quantity Surveying, Production Control and Time Management. I have been involved in projects varying from AU$250,000 to AU$15 Million.

My desire to work and reside in Chile is family related and also from the impression made on the numerous trips I have taken there. My wife is a Chilean National currently living in Chile and recently we have acquired property in Santiago (see address below) and have always decided to one-day return and settle. I speak some Spanish, as well as my native English and feel confident of applying myself professionally in a new environment. I have, in previous positions, sat on the Board of Companies as a Senior Executive and have also held positions within Government Departments that required High Level Administration.

I am hoping for consideration in a Management position, possibly as a contact role within Santiago to English, American or Australasian businesses, in the field of Construction, Manufacturing, Design & Development, Information Technology, Public Service Industry or Associated Government Areas.

Please be assured that this is a serious request and that your attention is appreciated. I am able to relocate as and when an opportunity arises. I look forward to your reply and await your further instruction.

Yours Sincerely

Malcolm Hughes

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

I would like to take this opportunity and introduce myself using your ad board.

I am currently working as Financial Accountant onboard cruise ship for one of the major cruise lines in the world. It is crucial to emphasize that I have more than 11 years experience in financial field working in hospitality industry and ships. Actually I am specialized in auditing/finances and payroll. I started my career on Canary Islands at the age of 18 having a position as Hotel Assistant Executive Manager. After hotel rebuilding I moved in to the cargo fleet and worked 3 years as 1st Fleet Financial Officer dealing with crew payroll and responsible for all financial transactions on the fleet.

Later on I got interested in hospitality industry and found a job on the cruise ship in the financial department. I must say that at the same time I studied at the University and graduated with tow degrees of Bachelor, - one degree in Accounting and second one in Food/Beverage Accounting.

My idea to work and reside in Chile is family related and also from the impression made on the numerous trips I have taken there working on the ship. My fiancée is a Chilean currently working on the ship with me as Front Office Manager. I speak Spanish, English as well as my native Lithuanian and Russian languages, have excellent computer skills working with different programs and applications.

I would like formally request consideration for any current or future appointments within your Chile operations. As you might see from my resume due to my experience, skills and education I could work in hospitality industry, port operations or financial departments. I will send you a copy of my Curriculum Vitae and references upon request and would be more than happy to answer any questions you may have by e-mail or by the phone.

I am able to relocate when an opportunity arises, we have sufficient funds to rent/buy an apartment in the place where I work. I look forward to your reply and await your further instructions.

Thank you very much for your time.

Best regards,

Denis Savcenko.

Comment #11 Nick (63.176.159.37) - 01/02/09 01:48

Does anyone know of any good construction jobs with good pay available in Chile?

Comment #12 Ken (63.176.159.247) - 01/15/09 02:00

Is construction a job that is in high demand over in Chile, and also what is the pay like? I am a 13 years experienced construction worker, and I own my own business and its been very successful for me over the years. I would be interested in going internationaly if its needed and would be successful for me.

Comment #13 Maddox (63.176.159.6) - 02/05/09 23:28

I would also like to know what the construction field is like in Chile.

Comment #14 Jay (63.176.159.74) - 02/26/09 20:33

Is the construction field in Chile good employment? Like if I were to move there tomorrow would I be able to just start a good construction job that day or the next day? If so, how good is the income and is it a guaranteed job all year around?

Comment #15 Barry (63.176.159.177) - 05/04/09 10:21

I don't think you people understand anything about the expat opportunities for jobs in Chile!

Comment #16 cwemoy (63.176.159.171) - 06/19/09 07:32

Barry, you had better go ahead then and tell us what exact opportunities exist in Chile? You will offer help to millions of us eager to get a glimpse of hoe things are? I think those of you looking for jobs could possibly run an internet search of available jobs. I must admit you have outstanding resumes! Am I allowed to borrow a leaf?

Comment #17 Natascha (63.176.159.248) - 06/29/09 21:10

Remember that Chile is a Spanish-speaking country. You should be able to communicate in Spanish, at least have a basic conversation, to consider working there.

If you're not specifically applying to an American/British company, this is very important!

Comment #18 Esteban (63.176.159.67) - 07/13/09 18:32

Hola, Victor.

Te envío un web page de un ovni que se vio entre los chilotes. ¡No hay que patearlos!

Comment #19 Joel (63.176.159.90) - 07/17/09 19:07

I wonder if this is the best place for CV´s. They should be sent to very good employment places on the internet, or directly to the companies and institutions that hire people. Just a thought...

Comment #20 Eve (63.176.159.229) - 08/24/09 16:57

Chile is a wonderful location from what I understand. One of the best places to visit in the world. Maybe I'll make a trip out there some day.

I have to see what is going on on that side there because my room mate made it sound as if it could be a really extravagant place along with a touch of humility and it is very culturally inclined.

Comment #21 Mary (63.176.159.144) - 10/22/09 13:12

I think before you start spewing your resume, you need to spend some time in Chile and learn about the job market first hand. I think you should also be prepared for some real culture shock.

Comment #22 Shawn (63.176.159.96) - 10/26/09 00:53

Yeah, culture shock is one big of a problem travelers and migrants should consider. But if you are so much friendly and approachable, you can certainly adopt with the flow of the new life in a new country. Just stick with what is in that country and you are on your way to developing rapport with the people there.

So instead of just being alone in your place, go out and meet people.

Comment #23 Claudia (63.176.159.203) - 10/31/09 15:11

Comment #24 Hook (63.176.159.132) - 11/03/09 18:08

It is a must and an ace i think if you knew how to speak Spanish if you are looking for jobs in Chile especially some hospitality jobs, or in any other field of work.

I suggest that before you try applying for a job in Chile, you should learn some basic Spanish, though they speak English, it would not be good if you do not know the language they are using there.
